Designed Around Architecture
One of the qualities that sets LEICHT apart is the freedom it gives us to consider the kitchen as part of the architecture of the room, rather than simply a collection of cabinets placed within it.
Furniture heights, proportions and horizontal lines can be carefully coordinated with the surrounding space, while features such as floor-to-ceiling doors, concealed passageways and integrated wall panelling allow large areas of cabinetry to appear calmer and more cohesive.
Even details such as the position of door joints can be adjusted to align with worktops or adjoining furniture, while continuous veneers and carefully matched finishes allow individual cabinets to read as one considered piece of furniture. It is this attention to proportion and alignment that helps a LEICHT kitchen feel naturally integrated into the home.

Materials, Colours & Finishes
A kitchen can be beautifully proportioned, but it is the choice of materials that gives it personality.
LEICHT offers an exceptionally broad palette, allowing us to combine colour, texture and natural materials in ways that can be subtle and understated or deliberately contrasting. Lacquered finishes alone are available in an extraordinary choice of colours, alongside wood veneers, textured surfaces, metallic effects and finishes inspired by materials such as concrete and stone. LEICHT currently promotes around 4,000 colour possibilities across its lacquered fronts, including gloss, super-matt and textured options.
Rather than approaching these choices as individual door samples, we prefer to consider how materials work together across the entire room: cabinetry, worktops, flooring, lighting and surrounding architecture all influence the finished result.

LEICHT gives us the freedom to refine dimensions, alignments, materials and internal details around the individual project, helping the furniture feel designed as part of the architecture rather than simply assembled from standard components.

Many LEICHT cabinets and furniture elements can be adapted beyond standard dimensions, giving us greater freedom to respond to unusual room sizes, architectural features and the proportions of an individual design.
Not every door, material or cabinet can be produced in completely bespoke dimensions, so we assess this on a project-by-project basis. Where special sizing is available, however, it can help us reduce unnecessary fillers, improve symmetry and create a kitchen that feels much more closely tailored to the room.

Tall cabinetry can be planned to work much more closely with ceiling heights, adjoining walls and architectural lines, creating cleaner and more continuous furniture compositions.
This becomes particularly effective when combining tall units with full-height doors, wall panelling or concealed access into adjoining rooms. Rather than individual cabinets visually stopping and starting, the furniture can become part of the architecture itself.

Selected natural veneers can be carefully planned so that the grain continues across adjoining doors and panels, creating a much more deliberate and furniture-like appearance.
Where appropriate, veneers can also be bookmatched or coordinated across larger compositions. Joint positions, worktop lines and surrounding panels can all be considered together so that materials flow through the design rather than appearing as a collection of unrelated components.

One of the things that particularly impressed us when visiting LEICHT was the precision of its manufacturing process.
Its highly automated production machinery operates to tolerances as fine as 0.14 mm, with laser systems used to continually monitor accuracy during production. This level of control helps maintain consistent panel dimensions, alignment and fit across even complex furniture arrangements.

Some of the qualities that distinguish a carefully made kitchen are found in details that are easy to overlook.
On selected furniture elements, LEICHT uses precisely machined chamfered edges to create cleaner, more refined transitions between adjoining surfaces. 45° chamfers can create exceptionally discreet junctions, while 35° chamfers are used to form elegant integrated grip solutions, helping the furniture retain a crisp, architectural appearance.
The same attention continues in less visible areas. LEICHT uses moisture-resistant PUR adhesive for its edging, with adhesive tones selected to complement lighter and darker finishes. Where multiple doors need to be connected, discreet connecting pins can also be used instead of more obvious surface-mounted joining plates.
Individually these are small details; collectively they contribute to the precision and refinement of the finished kitchen.

Drawers, pull-outs, internal dividers, lighting and specialist storage can all be selected around the way the kitchen will actually be used, while different internal finishes allow the inside of the cabinetry to feel as carefully considered as the exterior.
Rather than adding accessories simply because they are available, we use these options selectively to create storage that genuinely makes the kitchen easier to live with.

Yes. LEICHT kitchens are manufactured in Germany, with production divided across specialist facilities.
Having visited LEICHT ourselves, one of the things that impressed us was the way different areas of production are organised around particular materials and processes. Alongside its highly automated modern production facility, LEICHT also operates specialist manufacturing for areas such as real wood and veneered products, together with dedicated lacquer production and finishing.
The newest factory is particularly impressive, with an extremely high level of automation and precision. Something we also found telling about the company was that when this automation was introduced, existing employees were retained and retrained for other roles within the business rather than simply being replaced by machinery.
For us, that combination of advanced manufacturing technology and long-term investment in its people says a great deal about how LEICHT approaches quality and the development of the company.

There isn't a single price for a LEICHT kitchen, as every project is designed individually and the final cost depends on the size of the room, furniture specification, materials, worktops, appliances and installation requirements.
Within our kitchen collections, we generally position LEICHT as our more design-led, highly customisable German offering. It can be specified very sensibly, but its greatest strengths become apparent on projects where flexibility, specialist finishes and architectural detailing are important.

Both are high-quality German kitchen manufacturers, but they suit slightly different priorities.
Schüller is an excellent all-round collection offering a very broad choice, strong specification and particularly good value. LEICHT gives us greater freedom at the more architectural end of kitchen design, with an exceptionally broad selection of finishes, customisation options and specialist furniture solutions.
Neither is automatically the “better” kitchen. Our job is to understand the project and help you decide which collection offers the best fit for your home, priorities and budget.

Absolutely. One of the reasons LEICHT fits so well with the way we approach contemporary interiors is that the furniture does not have to stop at the kitchen.
The same materials, colours and furniture language can be carried into adjoining spaces to create media furniture, display and storage units, home offices, utility rooms, dressing areas and other fitted furniture. LEICHT itself develops furniture for both kitchen and living environments, allowing open-plan spaces in particular to feel much more cohesive.
For projects where the kitchen forms part of a larger living space, this gives us the opportunity to design the room as a whole rather than treating the kitchen as an isolated area.

Yes. Selected LEICHT lacquer programmes offer extensive colour flexibility, including colours from the RAL and NCS systems, allowing us to tailor the furniture much more closely to an individual interior scheme.
LEICHT also offers some particularly interesting curated colour collections. Its HYGGE colour concept brings together six carefully selected RAL shades inspired by Scandinavian interiors, with soft, natural tones intended to create a calm and warm atmosphere.
For something more distinctive, selected ranges are also available in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier®.
LEICHT is an official partner of the colour system and offers 15 specially selected colours from Le Corbusier's Architectural Polychromy. These are licensed architectural colours rather than simply another generic paint palette, which helps explain their separate positioning within the collection.Not every door programme is available in every colour option, so we can advise on the most suitable range once we understand the look you are trying to achieve.

Yes. LEICHT offers a number of furniture systems designed to conceal working areas or create discreet transitions between spaces. These include slide-away and fold-away furniture systems, integrated passage doors and room-dividing sliding doors.

Yes. We already have access to the LEICHT collection from our Norwich showroom and can take you through door samples, colours, finishes and the wider design possibilities available.
Our full display partnership with LEICHT is currently being developed, with new LEICHT displays planned for our showroom from January 2027. In the meantime, we recommend booking an appointment so that we can make sure the most relevant samples, finishes and information are available for your visit.

Yes, many LEICHT furniture programmes offer considerable dimensional flexibility, allowing us to adapt cabinet widths, heights and other elements much more closely to the architecture of the room.
There are, however, some manufacturing limitations and not every cabinet, door style or material can be produced in completely bespoke dimensions. Rather than describing LEICHT as entirely made-to-measure, we prefer to assess each design individually and use the flexibility available where it genuinely improves the finished result.
That flexibility extends beyond cabinet dimensions. Real wood veneers are carefully planned to create continuous or bookmatched grain patterns across adjoining fronts, allowing larger furniture compositions to read as one considered piece rather than a collection of individual doors. This attention to continuity even extends to replacement components, where adjoining veneered fronts may be replaced together to preserve the original grain matching.
